All,
I'm working on starting a family program targeted at
parents/guardians and their 3rd - 6th graders. I have found a great program
to use (a HOSO program kit) which has 8 individual activities per person.
Each activity is about an hour long and often builds on the previous
activity. They are also great because not only are they hands on, but they
get to keep the materials. What I was wondering was if anyone had ever done
this kind of family programming. Do certain days work better than others,
times? etc.
What I was thinking was that maybe it could be a summer program for
July and August. Perhaps every 1st and 3rd Saturday for 2 hours and would
include a snack/lunch. That way it would take only 4 actual dates to do (2
activities per day) and it doesn't seem like a huge commitment.
Any ideas? Am I headed for trouble. The thought is that I'd like to make
it a yearly program.
Any help would be appreciated. You can respond off list if you want.
Thanks ahead of time.
