Lon: We have such beads in collections from early nineteenth century context Native American context. They seem to come from the large trading house in Florida to local traders, Davenport and Barr. Likely as late as the 1820's. Good luck. Pete Gregory

Subject: Amber bead
I have run across an amber wire wound bead corresponding to W1d1 in the
Kidd and Kidd system at a site that I am working on on the big island of
Hawaii. Most of the Euro-American artifacts date to the early 19th
century. However, there are some later materials. Can any of the bead
folks out there help me with dating this, especially references? Thanks.
