Greetings all,

I have a question from someone working on a 17th(?)-century site in the
Shetland Islands. Does anyone know what was used to make the backing for
17th-century mirrors? And how would you conserve such a mirror to keep that
backing from flaking off?

Thanks,
Lee Cranmer
