The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a qualified
individual to fill the position of archaeology assistant.  Salary range is
from $3,002 to $4,018 per month.

The archaeology assistant is responsible for supervising, or assisting in,
investigations to identify, evaluate, and/or mitigate impacts to cultural
resources encountered within proposed transportation projects.  This position
also conducts analysis, basic research, and prepares or assists in the
preparation of technical reports.  Job responsibilities are performed under
moderate supervision.  This position also requires regular, statewide,
overnight travel.

The archaeology assistant requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited
college or university in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field and
knowledge of scientific archaeological research.  This position requires at
least 2 years of experience in archaeological field studies.  Experience in
North America or the Midwest is preferred.
