I have an urban backyard hive in Rhode Island. I can observe the
pollen that my bees are bringing in and storing, but I do not know
how I can assess their nectar gathering activity. I have been feeding
sugar syrup, but don't want to feed them the stuff once the nectar
flows. None of my beekeeping literature is of any help to me in
answering my question. Perhaps an experienced beekeeper from a
neighboring state, if not Rhode Island, can help me. Anna Browder
