I am not knocking Ed here, he was merely the guy that brought it up, but
there is far too much emphasis on 'wiping out' varroa. The objective should
be some sort of coexistance... A natural mite/parasite balance that requires
no chemical or IPM intervention and I reckon both the bees and varroa have
to shift the focus of their genepools in order that this balance can be
struck.

Easy to suggest, but I have no particular ideas how such an objective can be
achieved.
