"Dutch" is a great word to look up in an etymological dictionary (not as
good as "Check", but good. The "Dutch" in "Pennsylvania Dutch" refers
to a different bit of geography than the word in modern English usage
(Germany rather than the Netherlands).
A good place to look for books on North American buildings is the
