i have a large 2 pc brass button...approx 35mm dia. the hook has been
reversed stamped out from the inside of the back..no solder..the motif
on the button has 3 cranes or some other waterfoul flying under some
vegetation at the top..the bottom bird is flying right side up and if
facing north would be headed east with its head looking back to the
west...the other 2 birds are flying also in an easterly direction
looking forward..the background of the button is a starburst design
almost like the starburst design on a south carolina civil war button
..im not sure where this button came from as far as site location...are
there any guidelines on determining..the differences between Victorian
and Coloinial periods of manufacturing?..i will try and take a picture
to have available if anyone would like to see it...thanks for any input
