I've seen "flow black" and "flow purple" or "flow mulberry" transfer prints, and have always treated them as variants of the much more common flow blue transfer prints.  This in sherds, too small for working at pattern IDs.  I've often wondered--do they date any differently than the very broad .c 1840-c.1940 range for flow blue?

        Thanks Jeanne.    I had heard about mulberry transferware...but thot it was the deep purple variety...not a blackish purple...but come to think of it...the fruit of a mulberry tree IS that dark.
	
        I guess my dumb questions are too basic (and annoying) for most on this List....so I probably should stop posting.  I know I'm (nearly) totally ignorant about historic ceramics / bottles and admitted that from the start (and in my intro today)....but what better way than to learn from the Experts here?  Oh well.
	
        I've always wanted to visit Australia....how neat that you live there.  Don't know if I could pull up stakes and move so far away....or even to another state here in the US.
