You might have success in finding a letter baord at a restaurant supply
place.  Try Smith Rest. Supply in the 500 block of Erie Bvd, Syracuse.  I
got my felt-covered boards and plastic letters there 20 years ago.  These
things are going out of style in restaurants, so they might be difficult to
find and you may have to resort to using the good old chalk board which can
be found in any dollar store.
