ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
New Orleans, Louisiana: D Day Memorial Museum. It is really a World War II
Museum and does a great job of explaining military tactics in a very engaging
way while telling personal stories of the armed forces involved. It covers
both the European and Pacific wars.
Bob Bullock Museum (Texas State History Museum): Austin, TX. A new history
museum with an IMAX theater and interactive exhibits.
Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library, Austin TX. A museum that really makes
1960's history come alive through very nice environmental effects and just well
presented exhibits.
A new history museum that isn't in the region you mention:
U.S. Constitution Center: Philadelphia PA: Tells the story and meaning of
the U.S. Constitution (the document, not the boat) through an effective mix of
interactives, artifacts, theater, and multimedia.
Robert L. Russell, Ph.D.
