To link World War II with "Made in Japan" is a non-sequitor. Trade with Japan
terminated on December 7, 1941 and did not resume until MacArthur assumed
military command and authorized "Made in Occupied Japan" to be marked on trade
items. But I am sure you all know this tidbit of history. After the Japanese
democratic government assumed control of Japan, items resumed being marked "Made
in Japan."
