Actually,  they did respond.  I had already sent it to one conference
organizer, but hadn't heard back & intended to try the one who sent the
message to HISTARCH.  I fell into the same trap that most do at some
time, hitting reply & responding to the entire list instead of just the
individual who sent the email.  But it worked!

Sorry about the error, I'll try to do better in the future.  I think it
was my first slip in replying to all without intending that to happen.
