ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I was taught that the human eye typically begins in the upper left
corner of a graphic field and travels clockwise. A graphic arts
professor explained this to me many years ago, and I've taken it to be
common knowledge in that field (???).
(This may only be true for those of us who are trained to read from
left to right, top to bottom, however.)

All that having been said, the path of the eye is easily interrupted
and redirected. That's where we rely on graphic artist's intuition and
skill.
