As the son of a geologist who seems to like plants almost as much as rocks, I learned early in life about this weird plant. It's called a mimosa. If you're going to buy one through the internet or a plant store, please note that there are a number of species in this genus.

Subject: plant suggestions

We are looking at putting in a "5 senses" type garden for children and their parents to interact with, as well as to use as a teaching source. We have already picked out the "smell" and "sound" plants, but would like some help on the "touch" plants. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm specifically looking for the name of the plant that you touch and it curls up. Also maybe some plants that are "bumpy?" All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please just e-mail at work [log in to unmask]
Thanks.
