I was about fifteen living in Brooklyn, NY A friend, whom I liked and
admired a lot (a mentor), was always listening to Classical Music....and
I told him I would like to try and learn. I didn't have any classical
music experience at all, so he advised me to tune into WQXR's Symphony
Hall and see if I liked what I heard. I did and I dont know if it was
my first listen or a bit after but they played a recording of Brahm's
Third Symphony on night and WOW was I was bowled over. I never heard
of felt anything like that. I'll never forget that night and that
feeling. It was a whole new beginning for me.
