The label of the one I use says that it contains a "natural citrus base",
which has the advantage of giving the treated jewel case a pleasant aroma
for several days afterwards.  I surmise that citric acid has the necessary
qualities to act on even industrial-strength adhesives.  Any chemists
among our number?

 [We're getting way off topic for the list here.  Just buy some
  Goo-Gone, and you're set.  I've been using it for over 15 years
  now, and it always does the job.  Even has a citrus scent for
  those with stinky CDs.  -Dave]
