A few tips:
1. To listen to Webern, listen to plenty of Mahler first, then choose
the latest Boulez recordings of Webern's orchestral music on DG.
2. Listen to plenty of Messiaen, then have a go with Boulez's music.
3. Read absolutely everything Milton Babbitt ever wrote appertaining
to music: everyone enjoys a good mystery or thriller, don't they?
