It might verify that you had the chip/tag/antenna in the hive,
but would it verify that the queen was alive? Could she be
dead on the bottom board and a supercedure queen up there
laying in her place? How reliable would it be? (I suppose that
if she died, the disposal bees would probably toss out her
carcass. Might work.)
