Greenwood and Associates has conducted excavations at the back or "rear" of
the neophyte quarters at Mission San Miguel in San Luis Obispo County,
California. We are specifically interested in knowing how many neophyte quarters
still exist, either architecturally or archaeologically in the California Mission
chain? One of the goals is to determine how rare it is for these
features/structures to still exist? We know at Ventura, La Purisima, and San Antonio
there is archaeological evidence and at Santa Cruz there is part of an extant
structure. If anyone has specific information on the California Missions, I would
be grateful. We would also be interested in excavations conducted outside of
California on neophyte quarters.
