Does anyone have any immediate solutions to stop degradation of
vulcanite/hard rubber artifacts? In the last few days, we have removed a
number of buttons from the ground and they are responding negatively to
their new environment (the lab). They will go to the conservator
eventually, but in the meantime I was wondering if there are some steps I
can take to stop/lessen the degradation.

thanks,
Lori Lee
