A graveyard with two contiguous sections in Brunswick County, VA for
the owners and slaves was investigated by William & Mary in "A Phase I
Archaeological Survey & Phase II Evaluation of Site 44BR116 for the
Clover toCarson 500KV Transmission Line, Halifax, Charlotte, Lunenberg,
Mecklenberg, Brunswick, & Dinwiddie Counties, Virginia".
Also, Eppes Island in Charles City County, Va has a graveyard which was
used first by the Eppes family in the 18th century as it was adjacent
one of their houses and later by the slaves on the property as it was
relatively near the center of the island where the quarters were
located. This is according to family legend and is not documented. No
stones survive apart from one fieldstone.
