Andrew Clements in the Guardian raves Chailly and the Gewandhausorchester
Leipzig's recent London concert.

I too was struck by how very different Chailly sounded, as if he's been
liberated. Having an orchestra as good as the Leipzig Gewandhaus is
like, as one writer put it, "having a Stradivarius". They're an extremely
good orchestra and have needed a conductor to challenge them for some
time. Like so many late marriages this one might be the one that brings
out the best in both partners. This performance was electrifying, the
interpretation bursting with intelligence.
