Subject: french palaeolithic terms

sorry for the cross-posting, but i'm doing the finishing touches on a
translation, and a bit rusty -
in a palaeolithic context, what would "pièces" be in english? flakes?
fragments?
how about "l'analyse des fabriques"? factor analysis? analysis of work
areas?
