Not gonna happen in my case.  The improvement from LPs to CDs justified
abandoning the old format (pops and scratches, inner groove distortion,
hiss, rumble, wear, uninterrupted duration), but if necessary (e.g., if
it looks like players compatible with the current CD format may become
unavailable) I'll buy a half dozen CD-compatible players and stash them.
As long as someone still supplies 110V AC, I'm covered.  I'm not going
to replace 4000 CDs with SACDs for an improvement in sound that's probably
washed out by differences in my listening position.  I hear a lot of
live music in a great hall, and CD quality is quite adequate for my needs
in my home.
