If you are not successful in your attempt to find plans and build one, the
Bruchner Nature Center in Troy, OH has one that is owned by the Miami Valley
Bee Club that you can use at minimal cost.  They also have an uncapping
knife, etc. available.  It's a little trouble to load and haul supers, but
easier than maintaining one for a small number of hives.  You also keep most
of the mess out of your kitchen or garage!
