Hi all,
> >How do you guys wire your frames?
I use one of two methods to wire frames.
1.nail and wrap method
2.wrap and tie method
Doesn't realy matter on the pattern used. In either case I use a wire
crimper to tighten. To much work with the pliers, cranking and yanking
methods. Less than 5 second and the wires are crimped tight. Only about 10
US dollars for a crimper. Only good for a few 1000 frames before they wear
out however. A stainless one can be obtained from Austrailia for around $50
US but will last a lifetime. I go for the cheapies. Also I use a 15 gallon
drum to process culls or old combs w/ immersion heater. The frames come
out, brush the wires quickly and recrimp them to tighten. Ready to go to the
field after mounting foundations. Saves all that time re-wiring. I process
the wax and mill into foundation.
