Robert Elmore was a fine Philadelphia organist and composer, at 10th
Presbyterian Church in Philly (near Curtis Institute) for a long time.

I sang in his church choir when beginning to write music, and he and his
assistant and his professional soloists and his choir were kind enough
to include the first anthem I wrote in a service -- leading me to think
that most professionals would turn out to be genuinely interested in
helping young musicians develop.

Later I learned that his generosity and openness were not as common in
other professionals as I had at first thought!
