This Obituary crossed the wires. I am not familiar with this artist.

The world-renowned violinist and conductor, Tibor Varga, has
died at his home in the Swiss Alpine village of Grimisuat at
the age of 82. Varga was born in Hungary and made his debut
with Mendelsohn's E minor concerto when he was 10.
He moved to the canton of Valais in 1956 and started a summer
school in 1963, organising the Tibor Varga Festival in Sion
the following year. An annual violin competition is held in
Sion in his honour.
Varga's repertoire covered baroque, romanitc and classical
works, but he was best known for his performances of modern
composers like Stravinsky, Schoenberg and Berg.
