Norma, you told us that baby had one stool a day for the first three
days but did not mention if they were all meconium or were transitioning
to breastmilk stools. If not, it might be that there is a meconium plug
"gumming up" the works. I have seen a number of babes with this that
did not seem to be in any discomfort from it, but when gentle rectal
stimulation helped the plug to pass, breastmilk stools soon followed,
often in abundance!
