The MTU Industrial Archaeology faculty search committee would like to
clarify three points regarding our current search:
1. The search is still open and we are accepting applications. We began
reviewing applicants on December 15th, but our review will continue until
the position is filled.
2. The appointment may at either the Assistant or Associate professor level.
3. The topical and thematic preferences mentioned are desirable, but not
required.

Archaeology:
Michigan Technological University invites applications for an historical
archaeologist to contribute to its interdisciplinary Graduate Program in
Industrial Archaeology and History. This faculty member will join a growing
program with three archaeologists, three historians of technology, an
architectural historian, and a cultural anthropologist. Appointment begins
August 2003 for a tenure-track assistant professor, although it may be
possible for exceptionally well-qualified individuals to be appointed at a
higher level. The successful applicant must contribute to ongoing research
and fieldwork on American industrialization through analysis of artifacts,
sites, landscapes, documents, and communities. Preference given to
candidates possessing expertise in GIS methods and their application, and
teaching interests with a cross-cultural/international orientation that
contribute to the University's General Education Program. Ph.D. required,
