Hi-Do Shin writes concerning the Beethoven String Quartets:

The 1972/stereo traversal by the Vegh Quartet used to be on Auvidis and
has been reissued on Naive. The set on Music & Arts is from 20 years
earlier and is, of course, in mono sound. Both sets are at reduced
prices, but I think that the Music & Arts costs much less than the Naive.
Peformance-wise, the 1952 readings are quicker and more emphatic. The
1972 set presents a warmer Beethoven.
