while scuba diving for a historical society to confirm a rumor
that a door knob mfg co threw all of the leftovers into a mill pond when
the business shut down..(which turned out to be negative) I found a
beautiful Victorian Gold ring..all hand engraved with a mine cut diamond
mounted on it.lost by some swimmer.....or another time when diving to
locate the remnants of an old ice house operation... I located a bay
port chert bi-faced point ..on the same dive..reaching into the silt
probing for artifacts..i felt a brick about a foot and a half down in
the silt...pulling it out and surfacing to clearer water ..i noticed my
brick had four encrusted wheels attached..turned out to be a Cast Iron
Arcade toy truck...1929...sold for 25 cents..i always wonder if the
child that lost it was on the ice in winter or dropped it from a boat
