Inner cover off, replace with a sheet of plastic. little family on without
button. drill a hole as flight opening. cover on. a little family about 5 kg
of feed until spring, then move the little family to a new place and give
another five kg of feed.
I personal use this technique to winter three spare queens on top of a
strong hive. about 80% success.
Danish climate about the same as British Columbia.
