> the BFAR site, which says 30-40 mg, 3-4x per day.
Hi, Lyla,
Actually, the BFAR site states (on http://www.bfar.org/domperidone.shtml)
*20*-40mg, 3-4 times per day.
BFAR mothers routinely take between 80-120 mg, without side effects. Some
BFAR mothers respond only minimally to 80 mg/day, but do respond more
copiously to 120 mg/day.
Sharing your concern, I wrote to Dr. Thomas Hale in April of this year to
obtain his opinion on domperidone dosing. He responded that he, too, was
aware of the higher dosing, but was hesitant to recommend it without
evidence to support higher dosing. He was also dubious that elevated
prolactin levels can further increase the milk supply. Nonetheless, we
have seen consistently that it does among hundreds of BFAR mothers. He and
I both feel we need a dose respondent study.
