I was in touch with MiteGone and apparently he is encouraging US beekeepers
to make their own formic acid pads, which as far as I know, is illegal.
Bob replies
Mitegone lawyers have told Mitegone what they are doing is not illegal.
Peter:
I *meant* that for US beekeepers to use formic is illegal. Not whatever
Mitegone is doing, which is selling the pads. Anyway, YOU are responsible if
you contaminate your honey with an unapproved product or if you exceed the
limits of one that is aproved.
I think formic is a good product and should be made available, prepackaged. I
think beekeepers should wait till it is available.
I have met hundreds of beekeepers and the majority of them seem to think that
they should apply whatever treatments and chemicals they feel likem, govt. be
damned. I don't agree with this philosophy.
