Hello everyone.
Here in central Pa I am anticipating the black locust bloom in a few
days. Saw a few locust blossoms 60 miles south of here in Carroll
County, Maryland.
This week I moved my nucs I bought out into a 10 frame deep. The
Italian queens had over three frames of brood with some emerging. One of
the queens had 4 ½ frames filled with brood. This is doing well since
they were shaken out of the boxes into the nucs on April 16. I could
hardly believe it except my pictures of emerging bees tell the story.
I did find out it will be a while before I requeen with another
Buckfast queen. After dealing with the Buckfast the Italians are a real
joy.
