Traditionally, here in Santa Fe we had luminarios, or small bonfires
used to light walkways, and faralitos, candles in bags of sand.
Albuquerque, however, reverses the names and definitions--luminarios equal
candles in bags, etc. Now we have "electralitos," strings of plastic bags
with lights that are frequently placed on the parapets of our fake adobes,
and "ristralitos," strings of plastic chile lights. Cheers!
