If you have not yet booked your flight to the SHAs in St. Louis, here is a
tidbit of information that might save some folks some money.

American is running a holiday fare special that is in effect through January
6.  If you are going to the conference before the 7th, for instance, to be
there for meetings or workshops or tours, you qualify for the holiday fare
on your outward journey.  Just mention the holiday rate in addition to the
SHA special code when you dial the special number given in the
preregistration material.  I got a round-trip fare that was over $100 less
than I was originally quoted as the "special conference rate" just by asking
whether I qualified for the holiday rate on the 6th.  And I was told that the
SHA would still get credit for my using the special group number
assigned to the SHA.
