Carl,
I contacted you before. What is the deadline for submittal of abstracts?

Thanks,

Subject: Second Call for Battlefield Archaeology Papers

I am organizing a session on the incorporation of
anthropological theory into battlefield archaeology
studies for the 2004 conference of the Society for
Historical Archaeology. I am looking for papers that
treat artifacts and battlefields as cultural phenomena
that may be subjected to the same sort of theorizing
and scrutiny as would a prehistoric ceramic assemblage
or a community of sites. For the moment, I would like
to avoid papers that report the progress of ongoing
projects and papers that focus primarily on
corroborating historical data. The main thrust of this
session is to make history the handmaiden of
anthropology in battlefield studies. Please contact me
for further information.

Thank you,
Carl Drexler
