Of the versions I know, Stern, Shaham, Oliveira and McDuffie all bring out
the full, lush, impassioned lyricism of this work, as does, I gather, Bell.
Hahn, as Ben Malkevitch says (and as I noted in my review here) is more
restrained, but I recommend getting her recording anyway, for the accompanying
Edgar Meyer concerto (or if you are not about to abandon all emotional
restraint yourself.)
