Hungaroton had a series of compact discs with Turkish works in the
mid-1990s. There was a recording of Necil Akses' concerto for orchestra
and symphony #4 for cello and orchestra (HCD 31527, Ali Dogan, cello in
the symphony, Rengim Gokmen conducting the Hungarian state orchestra;
Akses' violin concerto is available on cpo, with Gokmen conducting the
Radio Philharmonic Hannover NDR (Chihat Askin, vn.) A CD of four orchestral
works from Turkey (HCD 31455) contained Erkin's Kocekce, Saygun's Five
Turkish Folk Songs (arranged from his ten folk songs op. 41), Akses'
scherzo, and Tuzun's Esintiller. (Etc; Hungaroton's site www.hungaroton.hu
lists a number of discs in the series.)
