Could it have more to do with the ease of availability of the Naxos
American Composers discs in the US?  I buy essentially of my classical
CDs over the web nowadays, but in order to buy something I have to know
it exists.  I read Fanfare, ARG and BBC Classical Music, and I still
miss things.
