A journal to track one hive is not a good idea. The varieties of experience
with one hive would lead to anecdotal conclusions, rather keep multiple to
see common patterns and eliminate the extremes. A comparitive observation of
hives is important. The one hive in a yard that does not have many flights
and departures bringing in pollen especially in the spring is the hive that
needs to be examined. You will not see anomalies keeping just one.
