>Out of curiosity - what size crown staples are folks using? Narrow or

I use narrow crown 1 3/8 galvanized coated...2 staples at each end. Using
two 10 frame jigs, I can assemble more than 500 frames a day. Once you get
the feel, not many staples poke through.
Wider staples are a little harder to use, but you can usually get longer
staples with wider crowns. The holding power of staples is in the length,
not the diameter.
Bill Mraz built a nice table for stapling frames. He uses wide
crown, 2" staples. The base looks like an old shave horse. The staple gun
is mounted at one end in a carriage that has vertical travel. The frame is
placed in one notch on the bench, and another on a vertical post, on the
backside under the gun. That gets everything square, and centered under the
gun.The pedal is stepped on, and the gun is activated.
