>New Zealand remains free of the beehive pest Aethina tumida
Because of the way SHb has been spreading around the world and early
detection of SHB is like "looking for a needle in a haystack"
I would rather say:
New Zealand has not yet found the SHB but the SHB could be in New Zealand
but as yet undetected.

PS.
Is all the recent beekeeping pest spread (tracheal mites, varroa and Aethina
Tumida) over the last two decades of beekeeping history (U.S.)coming from
swarms on ships at ports?
Have not these same ports been in operation for years without spreading
beekeeping pests? Hmmm.
