Hi all. The South Central Historical Archeology Conference is coming up,
at Selma, Alabama, Sept. 17-19, Friday-Sunday, hosted by Linda
Derry. We're still working on what "South Central" means, and this is the
furthest east we've met, but astonishingly this is the 7th time we've
gathered! As always, there will be papers on Saturday and a workshop on
Sunday morning. And some papers will be published on the SCHAC web site as
always. For further information, see the SCHAC web site at
http://www.uark.edu/campus-resources/archinfo/schac.html . While you're
there take a look at the programs from earlier conferences (oops, I forgot
to put in 2003 at Natchitoches, LA!) and the papers published so far. Or,
contact SCHAC president Liz Davoli, Louisiana Dept of Transportation and
Development, at [log in to unmask] Or, contact host Linda Derry,
Site Director, Old Cahawba Archaeological Site, 719 Tremont Street, Selma,
AL 36701-5445, phone 334 875-2529, email [log in to unmask] Or ask
me. Bye for now.
