A little Googling gave some contradictory results (there were incorrect
lyrics being perpetuated in that fashion as well). Several sites noted
that the song had been recorded "long ago by Red Nichols and the Natural
Seven." Checking into online biographies, I find that Red Nichols
(Ernest "Red" Nichols) was born in 1905--making him a little early for
your use, but not ruling out the song. A problem I encountered was the
Red Nichols did not have or perform with the Natural Seven. He had his
Five Pennies. Another musician, noted as Ernest "Red" Inlge, performed
with the Natural Five and the Natural Seven.

Now, you search for a while, and get it sorted out ;-)
