I, too, hold dual degrees in Historic Preservation and Anthropology. The
most valuable course from my Historic Preservation degree was
"Techniques of Local History." We were each given a landowner's name and
spent the entire semester scoruing the county courthouse and library.
Exposure to primary documents as a freshman was invaluable.

In an effort to broaden my horizons and to be a better historic
archaeologist, about a year ago I went back to school for a program in
historic preservation and architectural history. It has shown me how
much I
really **don't** know... quite an eye opener!
