I assume Mike is referring to that speckle "painted" enamel ware...black
spots on gray (if I remember correcty what my old wood stove coffee pot
looks like).  But would they have called an enamel ware vessel a "jar"....a
bowl, pitcher, etc. I could see...but a jar implies a closable lid doesnt
it?   Or am I showing my ignorance again?
